Shielded Patients

If you have received a 'Shielded Patient' letter, please do not panic.  We have provided a page dedicated to questions and answers compiled by Welsh Government.  Please click here to view this page.

If you have not received a letter but feel that should have one, please contact one of our GP's to discuss.

Due to the current pandemic we have made some changes in order to make access our clinical team as easy as possible.  We have listed these changes for you below:

  • To reduce footfall in the surgery, we have introduced telephone consultations which have replaced the majority of our face to face consultations.  These are bookable on-line or by contacting a member of our reception team from 8am Monday to Friday.

  • A video consultation might then be offered.  You might be familiar with FaceTime, our video software is similar.  One of our clinicians can discuss this option with you if needed.

  • We are still inviting patients to the surgery.  We have created 'clean clinics' at certain times in the day.  These 'clean clinics' are being used by our GP's and Nurses.

Of course, we are still offering home visits if deemed clinically appropriate.

If you currently have access to community services, these will still be available to you.

If you have not already done so, please let us know your preferred pharmacy name.  We can arrange for the pharmacy to collect your prescription from us and prepare ready for collection at the pharmacy.  If you let the pharmacy know that you are in a high-risk group and have been asked to self isolate, they may well be able to deliver the medication directly to you.

As mentioned, if you have any questions, please refer to the list compiled by Welsh Government.
